That's exactly what I suggested in your other thread, i.e the compression used isn't supported by Vegas:

I'm assuming here that these are Quicktime files encoded with a DV codec. I reckon that if you droped a clip on the Vegas timeline, then export to DV AVI, it would transcode pretty quick. Then import this back into Vegas.
I assumed they were quicktime as you were using a Mac. I assumed they wouldn't play very well in Vegas because I assumed that they needed transcoding to an AVI file to play smoothly.
