Default Adobe Premier 6.5

I'm still using Pinnacle Studio 9.4.3 which is an upgrade from 9.3 which came bundled with my ATI AIW X800XT video board so I didn't pay anything extra for it. So far it does everything I need without purchasing any add-ons or plugins from Pinnacle.

Given all the product quality issues I have read in various forums (including this one) about version 10 and prior versions, I will not purchase anything from Pinnacle for this product.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the forum posts that have alerted me to the product quality issues. This has lead me to look elsewhere when deciding on making a purchase if I need to.

At this point I am looking at Adobe Premier 6.5. I haven't tackled it yet, and I hear there is a bit of a learning curve to use it, but if it does everything Pinnacle Studio 9.4.3 does as well if not better, then I will likely go with it.

Although this is an older software product (which also means if I want to purchase it, it should be less expensive than the newer Adobe Premier Pro 1.5), I have read a number of very good reviews of it, something which I find very difficult to find with Pinnacle Studio. Adobe Premier 6.5 is also a better solution for me than Adobe Premier Pro 1.5 because I run Windows 2000 Pro and Adobe Premier Pro 1.5 will not install on Windows 2000 Pro.

That's my two cents (or pence) worth at this time. Since I consider myself computer savvy (being a software engineer for decades) I am confident that any learning curve for me won't be an issue, and from what I've read Adobe Premier 6.5 can handle anything that Pinnacle Studio can do as well.
