I just got the sony 510 a dvd burner and I had bought a sony digital hi 8 cam a few months ago. I down loaded the ulead trial of video 7. Im using the firewire connection from the cam to the computer and want to make dvd's of My old 8 and hi 8 analog movies which the cam reads.

Im confused about the compressions mpeg. mpeg2, dv, aiv. I have 120 gig H.d just for storing video. what settings should I use to capture the video retainning the best quality. video 7 defaults to dv format with the sony cam should I even change it to something else or just use the dv settings. Am I right in thinking video 7 changes the dv format to mpeg2 when burning?
