Thkx yr advise, but last night had brain storm and changed import settings on ITunes from AAC to MP3, then converted my library to MP3 which basically copied all songs into MP3, then deleted all MP4 songs (took some time) and now OK. Due to file change in import, any new songs I load by CD automatically save as MP3. So all hunk dory and back on track.
