So howcome when I play a DVD on my computer it fills the screen with no (appreciable) loss of quality? Is this to do with the size it is encoded to in DivX?

I want to play my vidoes on the PC rather than a TV. How do I ensure that I get a nice full-screen quality picture?

Excuse the stupid questions, but I want to make sure I'm getting the best out of the video.
