Hi Regg... a couple of points:

- DVDs are lower quality than tapes, because their compression ratio is higher. You don't lose quality, there just isn't that much quality there in the first place. Once you've edited it and recompressed it a few times, it might look bad.

- DVD file formats aren't immediately editable. You can convert them, but it's a major hassle.

There are a couple of other points, but these are the major ones.

Stick with a miniDV tape camcorder. Definitely, definitely.
