The only software I know (of the ones you have mentioned) is Windows Movie Maker. In the Clip Menu selct 'Audio' then 'Mute'. To be honest the only reason I mentioned it was to concentrate on what the video was doing (this is easier without sound) to establish if there were any jumps.

It is rather puzzling that the audiois OK on its own.
